The Lazard Editorial team is part of the Global Creative team and is responsible for the planning, concepting, writing and editing of marketing materials and thought leadership in support of our sales efforts across multiple distribution channels and countries. We are strategic partners with our peers in the sales organization and portfolio management, and we collaborate with them to create marketing campaigns and tactics targeted at specific segments of our audience. The Managing Editor will lead the Editorial team will be a player/coach, assigning work, driving consistency and quality, and taking on a share of the writing and editing duties. The Managing Editor should be comfortable writing and editing materials covering a broad range of topics in a manner consistent with Lazard’s brand and market positioning. The writer will be expected to clearly articulate Lazard’s investment strategies, research, and processes, and develop a strong grasp of these subjects over time. The Managing Editor will also lead the Global Editorial function, working with writers around to world ensuring consistent quality and integrity in our written materials. The Managing Editor will play a key role in showcasing Lazard’s innovation and creativity through insightful content and well-written copy




·         Develop and drive creative vision for Lazard Asset Management’s written content across all mediums (print and digital)

·         Lead, inspire, and mentor New York Editorial team

·         Collaborate with Design and Digital teams to increase synergies, reduce timelines, and produce best-in-class deliverables

·         Understand the scope and business reasons for a projects; translate business needs to requirements and tailor messaging to the intended audience

·         Ensure the consistency and integrity of investment messaging.

·         Build and improve processes, including looking for opportunities to leverage automation and digital workflow

·         Provide guidance and support to Editorial teams around the world; Develop and evolve processes to facilitate the sharing of work and ideas globally

·         Manage day-to-day operations of the Editorial team

·         Ensure adherence to all process and compliance requirements

·         Write and deliver regular and ad hoc investment communications of a sales-oriented, educational, and technical nature, with sensitivity to strategy-specific or market developments.

·         Identify investment communications opportunities.




·         Excellent editing and writing skills, with proof of success.

·         Familiarity with the industry and deep technical proficiency/command of investment management concepts

·         Experience writing for digital and social

·         Strong leadership skills; desire and ability to work in a small-team setting.

·         Skilled at producing effective and compliant marketing communications for multiple mediums.

·         Big-picture thinker with attention to detail.

·         Willingness to learn and ability to train others.

·         Ability to manage investment communications writers and projects

·         Self-starter with the ability successfully operate in an entrepreneurial environment.

·         Highly detail-oriented, Adapt to changing priorities and a lot of moving parts.

·         Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to work across different audiences, personalities and experience levels.

·         Business acumen, strong problem solving skills, proactive, creativity, and a track record of "getting things done".

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook. Project a plus

·         10+ Years professional writing experience

·         5+ years experience writing/editing in the asset management industry

·         5+ years experience managing teams

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; CFA level 1 or higher preferred

·         Must be detail oriented and accountable for final work product.
